CLASSIC PORTS FOR DEEP THOUGHTS

Port is not for the very young, the vain and the active. It is the comfort
of age and the companion of the scholar and the philosopher.

For the scholars, philosophers and lovers among us, offered here are two of the
most mature, deep and brooding ports available, bottled straight from the barrel in
the early 1960's, and stored with impeccable care by Ross's own Dan Bernhard,
these ports are transcendental and perfectly ready to be drank and enjoyed today.
Regarding the 1963 vintage, Robert Parker declared: The 1963 is a classic, a
monumental, rich, still tannic wine that will last at least another 30 years. 93 points
(01/89). And the Wine Spectator chimed in that: This is a wonderfully silky and
rich wine. Deep and concentrated raspberry and cherry character, with a hint of
spice. Full-bodied and very sweet, with layers of fruit and a long finish. 92 points
(12/99).
Regarding the 1996, the Wine Spectator provided 94 points and stated: This is an
extremely racy and totally harmonious Vintage Port, with wonderfully fresh aromas
of flowers, fruit and berries. Full-bodied, with a sweet yet firm palate. Long, long
finish. Super. (12/99)
