Description
2008 Pahlmeyer Chardonnay 2007 Peter Michael – L’Après Midi 2009 Crosby Sauvignon Blanc “Out on a Limb”
What a trio! And here is a description of just one, the Peter Michael:
Wine Spectator 93
Delivers an explosion of rich, smoky fig, apricot and coconut flavors, with refreshing lemon- lime and citrus notes that are intense and juicy. There's great focus and persistence on the finish.—JL
Steve Tanzer's International Wine Cellar 92
Light yellow-gold. Potent aromas of lemon and lime zest, wet stone and white flowers. Juicy, finely etched citrus and green apple flavors stain the palate, picking up an exotic anise quality on the back. With air, this develops passion fruit and mango qualities that carry through the strikinglylong, sappyfinish. ThiswineoffersBordeaux-likedepthandLoire-likefocusand cut, and should age extremely well.
Robert Parker 90
One of the best Sauvignon Blancs that has been made in California is the L'Après Midi and the 2007continuesthatsuccessionofwonderfulSauvignons. Theproductionisjustover2,000 cases, and while some Semillon is often blended in, the wine is dominated by Sauvignon, with its notes of melony fruit, lemon grass, fig, and spice. The 2007 is very fragrant, with hints of honeyed grapefruit and spice.
