Description

Ever wanted to rock out like Pat Benatar? No? Good, because I can't teach you to be like Pat Benatar. Only Pat Benatar can. I can, however, give you some tips & tricks to start off your career as a guitarist on the right foot. I have been playing for almost 15 years, am mostly self-taught, and play both acoustic & electric guitar. My musical interests are primarily in rock, classic rock, blues, and funk, but I have dabbled in all types of music. The goals of the lesson will be to teach some fundamental skills for practice that will speed up the learning curve and give a basic introduction to playing the guitar. While this is intended for beginners, I am willing to work with people who have been playing longer. I am willing to drive to your location, if it is within 20 miles of GW, or can host you at my lavish studio apartment on campus. I'd prefer to limit the session to 1-2 people. I can bring an extra guitar with me for your use, but I would prefer that the student has their own guitar. If more than one student attends, they will need their own guitars. We can work out a mutually agreeable time after the auction is complete. After this one hour lesson you'll be almost* ready to record an album! *Just add another 10-20 thousand hours of practice, luck, and creativity. ** Any requests to learn how to play Lady Gaga songs will immediately invalidate the lesson. **
