In 1994, Julia Silver Gordon opened her first Hiho Batik store in Boulder, Colorado. Catering primarily to the music business, Gordon created one-of-a-kind designs for mega rockers such as Widespread Panic, Carlos Santana and Ween.
Since then, Juia has become a preeminent Batik specialist in the United States and continues to produce innovative and unique products.
While still designing customized clothing for musicians, she now also creates lines for high-end retailers like Barneys and Kitson. Her clothes have been photographed on starlets, socialites and their children. On the Hiho Batik label is merchandise ranging from tanks, tees, yoga pants and tote bags. Each piece is individually waxed and dyed and as such, each is an original piece of art.
Even with all the growth of Hiho Batik, Julia stays true to her unique style and flair. The brand new Hiho Batik store in North Miami is funky and comfortable; a place you would want to spend the day.
