2008 Red Paso Robles Treana
The 2008 Treana Red has a deeply extracted, ruby hue and displays up-front aromas of ripe, dark fruit and exotic spice. Depth and power come from the Cabernet, while a Syrah component lends inviting fleshiness. The wine's full mouthfeel leads to a silky, lasting finish. Gavi is the home of the Cortese grape. Other regions in Piedmont and northern Italy also grow it, but nobody does it better. At its best, as with this version, Cortese is fruity and aromatic, with a hint of minerality.
