Brian Kiracofe of Newport Scrimshanders has donated this hand-carved letter opener; it’s Item 870 valued at $175.

Originally of Boston Scrimshanders in Faneul Hall, Brian Kiracofe has relocated his business to Newport.  The store is his workshop as he personalizes pieces or creates custom scrimshaw pieces. 

This hand carved letter opener takes the shape of an ebony sperm whale and is finished with an ancient walrus ivory blade.   It’s item 870 from Newport Scrimshanders, valued at $175.
