The artist of this abstract acrylic painting is Michele Silkey.  Michele is 5^th and 8^th Grade Woodland Star Parent and also known as “Miss Silkey” to our 3^rd Grade Class.

Michele created this series of four painting after learning new techniques; and by using tools that were not paint brushes.  This series of pieces is special to the artist because it opened new areas of painting to her artwork.  Michele usually works with at least 20 open jars at a time, layering the colors in her paintings.  She describes the color palette of yellows, oranges, red, golds, browns and greens as “vibrant, joyful, happy, and exciting.” 

In her art, Michele’s intention is for each piece to make a personal impact on each individual.  “Art is something where there should not be judgment.  With art you can look at it and just enjoy.  Art can create a unique moment or experience for each person.”

Each painting is matted on linen and beautifully framed.  The artwork may be purchased as a series or individually.
