Ruined was the winner of the Pulitzer Prize, Drama Desk Award, and numerous other acclaims in 2009.  Set in a rain forest bar and brothel in war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo, the play follows protagonist Mama Nadi, as she both protects and profits from the women whose bodies have become the battlegrounds between the government soldiers and rebel forces alike.
