Background ~ The American Elms that graced the Mall of the Penn State University main campus, for most of the last century have met their demise with Dutch Elm disease. Seeking to preserve some piece of what was lost, Rob Haney a Penn State grad, purchased Elm logs from the University after their harvest in 1995. He has been crafting beautiful and unique items with the lumber since, including the frame for this print.
This photographic print by Susan Batchelor is of the American Elms when they majestically shaded the Mall next to Old Main.
