Steam Valley's Natural Colored Mohair Yarn is created from the fleeces of the Angora Goats and Border Leicester/Corriedale Sheep raised at Steam Valley Fiber Farm by Phylleri Ball. The fleeces are skirted and washed at the farm, then sent to a regional mill for carding and spinning into yarn. The animals' names who contributed their fleeces are listed on the yarn tags. The four colors of worsted weight yarn produced from our 2010 fleeces are Black, Morrit, Silver and White in approximately a 50/50 blend of Mohair and Wool.
