Description
Belgian interior architect and artist, Claudie Clinckemaillie, is fascinated by both painting and mosaic. She's created this unique perspective on the Musée du Louvre using both oil paint and glittering tiles, giving this work a striking and unusual texture. During her studies in Belgium Claudie had the opportunity to explore different subjects like art, furniture design and architecture. It is clear from her work that she has been inspired to look at things we see every day differently and that she expresses this beautifully in her art. Claudie's canvas measures 55 x 55 cm.
Artist’s personal statement:
"With my exhibition “LINES OF MOSAICS” I want to show a collection of daily landscapes and impressions in an abstract way of lines, colors, mosaics and natural resources. Painting is for me a personal visualization and expression of simple daily objects and images in which we mostly do not see any more the plain beauty of a little shell, stone, seed, or other objects which by themselves contain a very complex and amazing variety of structure and colors.
I could never decide if today would be a day to paint or to make mosaics so one day I just decide to merge those 2 interest together and when I saw the results I just thought “this is me” and since then I am daily inspired by the place I am, the people I meet, and the positive energies we capture around us. The sun and the moon are a very important symbol for me, probably because I see it as the beginning of life but also as our most important source of energy which gives us inner peace and beauty."
