Description
This "heart" dish is triangular in shape with a beauty that is hard to put into words! It is truly a stunningly beautiful design in Edgecomb Potters' unique "Honey Green" glaze. The interior of the dish features light green sides smattered honey-colored crystalline bursts and blue "legs" reaching down to a darker green bottom with green crystalline bursts. Glazing on the exterior of the dish is a medium matte blue. The shape is assymetrical and measures 8" x 7 1/2" x 7".
The "heart" collection from which this piece comes was created to remind us of the friends and families who bless our lives.
In 1976, Richard and Chris Hilton began building a dream of making pottery in a one-room schoolhouse on the road to Boothbay Harbor. Thirty years later, Edgecomb Potters has a national brand recognition for a high caliber of work with an inventive spirit.
In this era of mass-produced products made overseas, Richard and Chris continue to create porcelain pottery with their own clay and glazes in their Maine studio.
Richard's passion for glaze development has led him to be considered a national standard to watch as recognized by articles in Niche Magazine, Boston Globe, The Dallas Times, San Diego Union, Ceramics Monthly, American Style, Downeast, and other publications.
In 2003, Edgecomb Potters was announced as a winner of one of America's "Best of the Road" by Rand McNally Road Atlas.
