Bid on this deep green, square cut Tourmaline pendant (80 pts tw) which sits beautifully in a bar style mounting on a 14k white gold chain.  Measures approximately 9 1/4" long. 

Tourmaline grows in prismatic crystals, commonly three, six, or nine sided.  The Chinese Empress Tzu Hsi loved tourmalines so much, and purchased so many, that when the Chinese goverment collapsed in 1912, it took the whole tourmaline market with it. 

Tourmaline is believed to make the wearer more flexible and understanding.  Tourmaline calms the emotional storm and makes the wearer less involved in emotional reaction and more objective in their dealings with others.  It has also been thought to cure ailments of the stomach and intestines.
