Description

  • Kindred Wines Syrah 2006 ($40):  Thompson Vineyard of Santa Barbara County. Deep purple ink with a crimson rim color, this full-bodied wine exhibits aromas of violets, berries and lead pencil. On the palate, cassis and blackberries drive toward a satiny finish with assertive yet approachable tannins.

  • Raw Power Shiraz ($11): Raw Power Shiraz is unmanipulated and 'real' reflecting the commitment & authenticity of garage winemaking, unpolished and raw with plenty of power, the Adelaide Plains way.

  • Callia Alta Shiraz 2009 ($10):  Deep red wine, with bluish shades. Aromas reminiscent of plums and ripe figs, tobacco and spices. Very complex and creamy in the mouth; good structure and remarkable presence of ripe tannins.

  • Milbrandt Vineyards Traditions Syrah 2007 ($14): We added a dash of Petite Sirah to our Traditions bottling to create a dark, dense, complex wine with jammy fruit and layers of spice and berries.

  • Robert Hall Syrah 2007 ($20): An inviting, well-balanced wine, the 2007 Syrah expresses aromas of blackberry, chocolate and caramel with a touch of smoky, sandalwood spice. The deep ruby-red color hints at the opulent fruit flavors of berry, plum and black cherry which greet the senses and are complemented by soft silky tannins.  90 Score / Editors Choice - Wine Enthusiast, Feb 2010.  GOLD MEDAL - San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition 2010
