Hand printed pure silk scarf

This is a pure silk scarf Block Printed individually by hand. Producing these scarves is a work of patience and precision. The patterns are first carved out in Sheesham wood, known for its durability and hard firmness so important for carving sharp and intricate designs. The blocks for the body of the design are separate from the blocks used for the borders. The first step involves planning out the design with the borders and the main body of the design. The borders are block printed using the blocks by dipping the block in the dye paint with just enough paint to make a sharp outline. Using a different block, the colors are filled in using the same process very carefully so the dye fills in the outline this time without bleeding over the pattern. This takes precision and an experienced hand.  After the border is complete, the artist will fill the scarf with the main pattern using the same process.  This scarf is a work of patience and artistic talent.  Use it as a scarf looped around, or dress up an outfit by wrapping around your shoulders to show off the jewel tones.  Enjoy!
