Hand Printed Pure Silk Scarf

This stunning scarf may be worn as a wrap, or a scarf to grace any outfit from very dressy to casual dressy. The timeless paisley is block printed in Hot Pink, Red and Mustard on a Beige background with mustard to grace paisleys and the borders on the two short sides. A must have!

BLOCK PRINTING: This pure silk scarf is Block Printed individually by hand. Producing these scarves is a work of patience and precision. The patterns are first carved out in Sheesham wood, known for its durability and hardness which is so important for carving sharp and intricate designs. The blocks for the body of the design are separate from the blocks used for the borders. The first step involves planning out the design with the borders and the main body of the pattern. The borders are block printed using the carved blocks by dipping the block in the dye paint with just enough paint to make a sharp outline. Using a different block with the same pattern, the colors are filled in using the same process very carefully so the dye fills in the outline this time without bleeding over the pattern. This takes precision and an experienced hand. After the border is complete, the artist filled the scarf with the main pattern using the same process. This scarf is a work of patience and artistic talent.  Enjoy!
