Artist Statement

Born and raised in Muskegon Michigan, Lesa’s interest in painting was sparked at the early age of 5 years by her Grandmother, a painter, who tutored Lesa for many years.

Lesa continued her studies in several art forms through independent study with Lou Payment.

After moving to Colorado Lesa returned to her love of the brush. Moving forward in her studies with private teachers Diane Dunn and Jake Gaedtke, Lesa developed her unique expression of movement and color.

Lesa’s vibrant use of color is a reflection of the world she sees and wishes the viewer to experience.

“I have enjoyed all styles of painting. I love to get out of the studio and be in the middle of the beauty in nature and find that special place that speaks to me.”

“I like to set a scene that excites me and gives a new perspective on the everyday things around us.”
