Description
Elmer is the story of an pig that was different because he was "patchwork" and therefore lots of colors. Of course in the real world, it is not always easy being different. So one day he hatches a fabulous plan. He marinates himself in berry juice and becomes pig color and is finally one of the crowd. However life as unseasoned pork is a little boring for Elmer.
The book ends with Elmer giving all the pigs the biggest surprise of all, which makes them laugh "as they never had before". They decide to honor him with a gala each year where they decorate themselves to become colorful like him. Get the original Porkmer pig. Next year the gala may be patchwork!
