This painting represents of her most beloved places:  Tuscany, Iltaly, where she has a vacation home. It highlights her passion for color, composition, and most of all, her love of Nature.

Almud Bonhorst has been a life-long artist, currently living and working in Diedorf, Germany. Over the past 40 years, she has lived in Germany, England, Italy, and the US. While living in London, she attended the highly acclaimed "City and Guilds of London Art School", where she studied Illustration and Typography. During this time she was commissioned to do a series of portraits for the Savoy Hotel in London. Upon moving to Washington DC, she studied Fine Art and Painting at the Corcoran School of Art, and began focusing mainly on oil painting. Her inspiration is the beauty of nature and architecture, which she conveys with a beautiful sense of color and style. While the work is often very abstracted, it manages to capture the essence of her favorite places. Her pieces are mostly small and intimate, focusing on a moment in time.

In 1996, when she returned home to Germany after 20 years abroad, she spent 2 years painting variations of the famous Monastery "Oberschoenenfeld" in Augsburg. The museum at the Oberschoenenfeld later showed her work and sold every piece.
