Amber Wilhelm is currently working in Washington DC as  graphic designer for National Geographic. Before that, she worked several years as a decorative painter. She  also volunteers by teaching watercolor techniques and drawing
to seniors in her community. Amber is a skilled painter and draftswoman. Her drawings are meticulous and beautiful.

The pieces up for auction are a set of ornaments that she makes by hand, and decorates partly with painted details and partly with collaged elements.  The colors are warm and saturated, reflecting her skill with paint as well as her ability to create rich surfaces with a sense of depth that belies the actual weight of the pieces.

These ornaments can be hung on a tree for the holidays or placed in a bowl to decorate any space. They are very light, yet sturdy, and invite the viewer to get in close to discover every detail.
