"I love working with clay. The fact that this is a tactile, non-verbal process allows me to explore different forms of creative expression than I find other aspects of my life. I am particularly attracted to organic forms that reflect the natural world around me. From the textures of tree bark to pinecones, from the flowing forms of fungus to the simple elegant lines of plants, it literally feels like working from the ground up, starting with a piece of the earth. I have been working with clay off and on for years.  Now that I have settled in Jersey City,
I have been able to work and study at Chambers Pottery in Tribeca for the past 8 years, which has allowed for steady maturation  in my growth as a potter/ceramist." - Sue Fawver
