(1) One hour Acoustical Consultation for your office, home theater, or private listening room.
Listen to the Music Without Hearing the Room
Imagine hearing your music in a whole new way; the way the artist intended it to be heard. Most audio is heard in less than optimal settings. Your walls, your furniture, your ceilings, even your floor covering can all impact and modify the quality of the sound coming from your system. In fact, the goal of any acoustical product should be to eliminate the room effects caused by the room's walls, ceiling, and floor.
With Acoustic Fields' revolutionary products, you can eliminate the barriers to a quality audio experience and do so with products that have the performance and appearance of today's finest speakers and amplifiers. Our products will truly allow you to listen to the music, without hearing the room.
Today's audio amplifiers and speakers are not the only components of our sound systems. Solid state or tube amplifiers are two popular energy sources. Stereo speakers can be bookshelf speakers, floorstanding speakers or just simply loud speakers. Whether we are using them in sound recording, in a sound studio, or just have our own sound room, audio amplifiers and speakers do not stand alone;they must produce soundwaves in a room.
What does the room acoustic add or subtract from our presentation. It adds over 50% to what we hear in the total sonic presentation. It does not matter whether it is simply a two channel system or a home theater system, the room matters.
First, we must deal with the energy outside our room. Soundproofing our rooms refers to sound barrier technology. To have a room that is soundproof, requires technology that uses a soundbarrier type of approach. To control noise from the outside, we must use sound deadening materials arranged in a manner that adds to a sound proof room. This is not what our technology is about. Our products focus on the energy and sound frequency within the confines of room boundaries.
Many terms are used to describe room acoustic products. In the past, fiberglass insulation was used in acoustic panels. Later, companies developed an acoustic foam or soundfoam. The whole genra was referred to as sound insulation. All of this technology was focused on sound deadening or absorption of soundwaves. All of this absorptive technology was to be able to impart sound control with a minimum of sound design. This was not sound audio.
Once you absorb sound waves, they are converted to heat, whether you are using fiberglass insulation, foam insulation, or acoustic foam. All of these acoustic panels absorb sound waves. Is our goal really to lose sound energy in order to control it?
Middle and high frequency signals from our speakers, amplifiers, and rooms must be controlled if we are to create a soundstage with our speakers that has any impact. Reflections from room walls, floors and ceilings must be spread out evenly throughout the room using diffusion to avoid destroying the sound stage. No need to lose energy with diffusion. Diffusion coupled with middle and high frequency absorption is the proper acoustic treatment balance.
In our home theater systems, subwoofers produce low frequency sound waves. Acoustic panels made of fiberglass insulation or foam insulation, offer nothing to stop low frequency energy. Surround sound has a special low frequency output that the subwoofer or subwoofers must drive. Bass waves start at 30' lengths and go to 60'. It takes special technology to handle this amount of energy.
Our blend of unique low frequency absorption technology is achieved using activated carbon filters inside sealed enclosures. Activated carbon produces low frequency absorption below 100 hz. This unique blend of low frequency absorption coupled with our quadratic diffusion sequences produces a single product capable of performing all the acoustical chores today's speakers and amplifiers can produce in any room type.
