About Student Stage, Theater Camp: Week-long theater workshops for kids in grades two through eight - Theater Camp and Musical Theater Camp - are offered at the St. Peter's School in June and July.
Sessions of Theater Camp, which explore script writing, directing, and acting, provide participants the opportunity to write and direct their own one-act plays. Kids can learn songs and dance numbers from classic family musicals during Musical Theater Camp.
Both programs, developed and taught by Melissa Church, an experienced elementary school teacher with a strong background in the performing arts, offer kids the chance to learn theater production concepts and vocabulary, play improvisation games, and design sets and costume design. Each session culminates in a full production for family and friends.
