Amy Ritter’s work currently reflects a playful feminist critique in order to surreptitiously direct the viewer’s attention to the apparent gender inequities that remain in our society. The hot glass studio, for instance, is rich with sexual jargon and innuendos. Ritter uses the sexual tension created through the heat and physical interaction with others as a departure point for her investigation of the sexes both in and out of the glass studio.
