Description

Skip the resorts and experience the real Dominican Republic in this 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom villa on the ocean!  This authentic home is located on the north coast of the Dominican Republic in a gated residential neighborhood called Costambar. Ten minutes outside Puerto Plata, and down a dusty road, Costambar boasts a beautiful mile-long crescent beach. The shoreline is fully protected by a living coral reef, which makes the gentle tide, warm, azure water and shallow surf zone safe for playing, swimming and snorkeling. The master suite with a king bed has a panoramic ocean view and private bathroom. Downstairs is a queen bedroom with an ocean view and a twin bedroom off the side courtyard. There is a full bathroom between them. There is also a bathroom off the spacious, full kitchen. A dining foyer and living room complete the house. There is a covered patio with table and chairs, a tropical backyard with lounge chairs, and a short stucco wall before you reach a narrow public foot path and the open ocean. The crescent beach is a five minute stroll down the coast and has local friendly beach dining, including fresh seafood, and lounge chair rentals for 50 pesos a day (less than $2). Costambar has several restaurants within walking distance of the house, and there are many more only a short drive away. World famous Sosua beach is a 20 minute drive, and Cabarete, famous for wind surfing, is a 40 minute drive. A refundable security deposit of $300 is required. Please bring your own cell phone to make calls. Twice weekly maid service will be provided; additional maid service is available for an additional cost. Cable TV, interent service, electric* and water are included. Puerto Plata Airport is approximately 15 minutes away by car. Adios NY! This house is available for up to 6 people for one week; either Spring break between April 16 and April 26, or prior to December 1 subject to availability. To reserve for spring break you must contact the owner by February 28, 2011. Please respond via email. *Note, electric is regulated by the Dominican government and is sometimes restricted during certain hours.
