PS9’s new GREEN TEAM, led by Tara Maurice, has found a way to replace the Styrofoam TRAYS currently in the cafeteria. They are wasteful, degrade the environment, and the chemicals in them are known carcinogens that leach into the food, and we use 300 trays a day. PS9’s Green Committee found a vender that carries a Bagasse tray made of 80% sugarcane and 20% paper. These trays cost more than the existing trays so, if we want these trays, we will need to find a way to pay for them ourselves. It comes out $900, or LESS THAN $1.50 PER CHILD for rest of this year.   Please donate toward this cause today
