Description

Yaacov Heller is a globally recognized sculptor, artist and jewelry designer.  This sculpture depicts a wedding scene with a rabbi, bride and groom standing under the chupa.  All are mounted on a black base which swivels upon a second stationary black base.  The work is signed by the artist on the back of the rabbi's leg and dated 1992.  The overall dimensions are 9 1/2"h x 6"w x 6"d.

In trying to learn more about the artist and this sculpture, I spoke with him on the phone.  Here is what he had to say about this piece:

"...it's cast in pewter, from a wax sculpture, with real silver and gold overlay.  It has a protective finish so it won't tarnish.  The piece you have is worth a minimum of $500, but these sell for as much as $800."
