The Planets is a seven-movement orchestral suite by the English composer Gustav Holst.  Competed in 1916, fourteen years before Pluto was named a planet, this recording includes a Pluto movement composed by Colin Matthews in 2000.  From its premiere to the present day, the suite has been enduringly popular, influential, widely performed and the subject of numerous recordings.
