Get away from the hustle and bustle of life in a rustic cabin retreat in Michaux State Forest, 20 minutes from historic Gettysburg and only minutes from Totem Pole Playhouse, Caledonia Golf Course, and the Appalachian Trail. The cabin sleeps four (bring your own sleeping bags and pillows) for a weekend to retreat back to the simple life! Enjoy your morning coffee on the enclosed porch as you listen to the birds and wildlife in this scenic, historic area of Pennsylvania. There's a lot to do -- or you can do nothing at all!
Special Instructions
This retreat is for a Friday to Sunday stay; or other arrangements can be made with the owner. The cabin is a rustic cabin without modern bathroom facilities or running water. A water cooler is in the kitchen along with water in containers, so it is suggested to pack additional water for the weekend!
There is an outhouse out back (actually one of the best designed around) and a composting toilet inside (a scoop of peat moss to compost after use). There are showers available in the state park (across Route 30).
