"There are 725 cases of the 2002 Les Chats du Monde, a blend of 48% Syrah, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 14% Merlot that tips the scales at 15.6%. Indigenous yeast fermentations give these wines a wild mountain flower-styled bouquet with blueberry liqueur and cassis notes in the background. Full-bodied, unctuously-textured, thick, and juicy, it should be drunk over the next 4-6 years. I can’t say enough good things about Behrens and Hitchcock. This is the type of winery operation that gives hope to aspiring home winemakers who want to make it in the big time. They have followed their dreams, unearthed top vineyards that were available to everybody, and are making non-interventionalistic wines of extraordinary personality and character."
