Meyer House was built in the middle of an old potato field. Having recently been renovated, it now nestles between hay fields and many acres of open space in the Matunuck area of South County. This is a wonderful area to enjoy nature; walking, birding and of course, going to the beach. We are 19 miles from Watch Hill, 23 miles from Newport, 38 miles from Providence, and only 9 miles from URI. Meyer House is reachable both by RIPTA and Amtrak as long as you include a taxi ride.

Our passive solar post and beam home offers an eco-friendly establishment. Mother Nature helps heat the water, dries the clothes and provides cooling ocean breezes. On her days off, oil, the drier and fans bridge the gap.

Treasuring the environment, our efforts include recycling, composting, gardening, growing and buying local produce and using nontoxic cleaning products. We hope our guests will help out by being conscious of their energy use.
