Rated most recently by both Robert Parker and Wine Spectator as 98 (on the 100 point scale). Consensus rating by subscribers to Wine Tracker is 94.

A slow aging wine that both Spectator and Parker say will be good until at least 2050. If consumed in the next few years it should be aerated for at least two hours before drinking. The nose will have aromas of smoke, toast, crème de cassis and white flowers.

It has massive but sweet tannins, being masculine and full bodied but balanced, and having flavors of blackberry, cassis, plum and vanilla.

It is Chateau Margaux at its best.
