This is a gorgeous Boston Bruins pennant commemorating the Bruins 25th anniversary, which they celebrated in 1949.  The pennant is marked '24 and '49, and is made of thick wool (not felt) and embroidered insignias.  A 3-dimensional pennant of the highest quality.  It is double matted with reverse cut beveled mats in a shadow box black frame.  The photos do not do this piece justice (as the glass makes it difficult to photograph). The pennant is 31" long (to the tip) and 13" high. The frame measures 45" wide X 22" high.

The significance of the years on the pennant:

1924/25: The 1924-25 Boston Bruins season was the team's first in the NHL. Along with the Montreal Maroons, the Bruins were the first expansion franchise in the NHL and the league’s first American-based club.  On November 1 the Boston Bruins made their debut as the first American team in the NHL defeating the Montreal Maroons at home 2-1.

1948/49: In celebration of the team's 25th anniversary the Bruins debut new uniforms featuring the now familiar Spoked 'B'.
