One lucky student will assume the presidency of Sem for one day in April or May 2011. The temporary leader will reside in Dr. Nygren's office from 8:00 AM until the end of the school day; he or she must attend classes where tests will be given, but may cut all other classes; he or she may have meetings with students in the office if those students have free bells; he or she may designate in advance a list of students permitted to dine off-campus; he or she may designate the day a "dress down day;" he or she may confer with food service to arrange for a particular lunch, within reason. A sign will be placed outside the President's office indicating who will be the President for the Day
