Shadowing opportunity for a high school or college pre-medicine or biology student. Student must be 18 years of age or older.

Spend 5 days this summer with Dr. Joseph Ridilla at his Wilkes-Barre office seeing pre-and post-surgical patients;seeing new consultations sent over from referring specialists;taking part in surgical rounds and the hospital where Dr. Ridilla discharges patients, generally in the early morning time.  Dr. Ridilla generally sees on an average of 50-100 new  patients in one week.  Our office hours are Tuesdays from 10-6pm and Thursdays from 9-2pm, after which it is back to the hospital to see more patients. 

Dr. Ridilla also operates at the Center for Same Day Surgery,in which he specializes in "micro-invasive"surgery, including laporoscopic cholecystectomy(gallbladder removal);laporoscopic herniorraphy surgery(hernia repair surgery), and a myriad of colon;breast;and thyroid surgeries as well.  The student who wins the auction bid, would need to be able to either drive themselves, or be dropped off at either Dr. Ridilla's office or the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. 

Once a winner is determined, the office will need to obtain forms from the winning bidder or the student.  The forms will need to be completed by his or her family physician, and the winning student will also have to sign a disclaimer/confidentiality form before he or she can start at the hospital with Dr. Ridilla.  Once a winner has been determined, please have them contact our office to make arrangements.
