Gouache on paper, "Almond Joy", framed, 28" x 41" by Sophie Matisse.  This painting was inspired by the small paintings she used to make in her agenda book when she was at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris.  From an illustrious family of artists, she is related to both Henri Matisse and Marcel Duchamp (a great influence on her work), Ms. Matisse is a noted artist in her own right.  Recent exhibitions in 2010 include:  "Seconde Main," Musee d'Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris; "Sophie Matisse," The New York Institute of Technology, New York; "The Visible Vagina," Francis M.
