Description

A Night at the Theatre:  4 tickets to "The Soldier's Tale," a fully staged production of a classic theater piece based on a Russian folk tale and set to music by Igor Stravinsky.

Jody Oberfelder Dance Projects performs in collaboration with the acclaimed Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra under the baton of KCO Music Director Gary S. Fagin.

The story is about a fiddle-playing soldier who deals with the Devil.
Oberfelder's "bright, clear, gutsy" (Deborah Jowitt, Village Voice) choreography paired with the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra's adventurous programming that "invite(s)...listeners on some intriguing journeys..." (Laurel Graeber, The New York Times) will surely result in an innovative production of Stravinsky's The Soldier's Tale (L'histoire du soldat). Stravinsky's theatrical score will be performed by musicians from the Knickerbocker Chamber Orchestra under the baton of KCO Music Director, Gary S. Fagin.

In presenting a fresh version of "The Soldier's Tale," choreographer/director Jody Oberfelder places this post-World War I story in a modern world. The dramatic trajectory is conveyed through the acrobatic physicality of the characters and the storytelling of the narrator. Jody Oberfelder Dance Project performers include Jake Szczypek as the Soldier, Rebekah Morin as the Devil, and ChristinaNoel Reaves as the Princess. Christian Coulson, acclaimed actor for the screen, stage and television and previously seen onscreen in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, The Hours, and Gossip Girl, joins the cast as the Narrator.
