Stylist Pepper Pastor travelled to Berlin after college to refine her technique. Now, having garnered international accolades and racked up glossy print credits galore, she's staking her claim on a more accessible part of the map--Lower Manhattan.
Pepper Pastor Salon epitomizes Pepper's personal approach to hair, with every aspect of its design devoted to ensuring that a client's appointment becomes the high point of his or her day.
The space, designed to cocoon clients in glamour, channels classic Hollywood with a dash of modern noir--a look Pepper calls "Tim Burton meets Coco Chanel". The interior features tremendous care lavished on even the smallest details: wrought-iron art deco gates salvaged from decommissioned elevators divide the shampoo bowls, while in the foyer, clients perch on a late 19th century sofa reupholstered in sumptuous black velvet damask.
