Done in the style of Scandinavian country painting, this piece was first ‘limed’ with blue paint. (Liming means to paint and then to quickly wipe the excess so that the grain of the wood will show through.) A winterberry stencil was used on the front and top in Oxide Chromium, Prussian Blue and Hunter Red. Scandinavian country furniture often features painted wood with a simple design. Muted blues, greens and whites that are aged and faded are a feature of this type of design. The 3-drawer storage cabinet is finely crafted from solid oak. The dimensions are approximately 28”H x 32”W x 17”D.
