David Porter is best known as the songwriting and production partner of Isaac Hayes at Stax Records during the 1960's. The duo composed over 200 songs including "Hold On I'm Coming", "Soul Man", and  "Something Is Wrong With My Baby". He later became a Stax recording artist himself and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
