Vistamar's strong visual and performing arts program is led by talented professional artists who are also skilled instructors.

At Vistamar the arts are considered a vital part of a comprehensive education. All students are required to take a full year of fine or performing arts, in a single medium or performance area, over a period of three successive trimesters. Beyond the graduation requirement, a wide variety of arts courses is available and may be taken as individual trimester electives.

- enhanced perceptual awareness
- the skills of non-verbal expression and problem solving through the exploration of sensory media
- contributions to a vibrant cultural life at school
- a framework for understanding the processes of creating and performing, leading to greater enjoyment of the arts
