Signed as an amateur free agent in 2001, Melky Cabrera proved to be a reliable outfielder for the New York Yankees from 2005 to 2009.  His personality was infectious within the clubhouse, and his on-field production proved to be valuable.  Constantly the subject of trade rumors throughout his tenure in New York, Cabrera increased his value during the 2009 season, smashing 13 home runs, getting timely hits, and playing a solid outfield.  He even hit for the cycle on August 2, 2009. After winning the 2009 World Series, Cabrera was traded to the Atlanta Braves for Javier Vazquez.
