The story of Jews in America is the quintessential immigration story. Pioneers, cowboys, entrepreneurs, and artists are its protagonists. Freedom and transformation are its themes. Since 1976, the National Museum of American Jewish History has committed itself to sharing the American Jewish experience on Independence Mall in Philadelphia. Its collections have grown. Its vision has expanded. The opportunity to share a wholly engaging story has emerged, and the dream has taken hold. In the fall of 2010 that dream will become reality when the National Museum of American Jewish History opens the doors of a state-of-the-art museum on Independence Mall. Sited between Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, and designed by James Stewart Polshek, this brand-new 100,000 square-foot facility, with its glowing, translucent facade, will feature five floors of interactive exhibition space as well as one of the nation’s largest collection of Jewish Americana. We invite you to join us in this decidedly bold venture. With your generous support, you can play a vitally important role in the creation of the new National Museum of American Jewish History. Please visit the Museum for exhibitions about American Jewish life, as well as our website to check the progress of construction. We’re breaking new ground. Our journey continues. Join us.
