Christo's, of Brockton, Mass., is "Home of the Greek Salad King" and a great place for family dining

From the days of former Boston Red Sox announcer Ken Colemen proudly describing the "Home of the Greek Salad King" in a 1970s advertisement to its current presence as a huge, five dining room family restaurant, Christo's is a well-known Brockton, Mass., landmark .
Best known for its Greek salad with greens, cured olives, fresh tomatoes, a mountain of tasty feta cheese and an incredible homemade dressing, this is the signature must-try dish. The Greek-American menu has many high quality selections, with standouts being the tender baked lamb with rice pilaf and green beans, well-seasoned and ample shish kebobs, an amazing crispy pizza that's not too greasy, a Moussaka that's done right, and homemade baklava.
The dining rooms and bar are huge to accommodate the constant crowds, and the service salt-of-the-earth and efficient. The waitresses, in general, seem to go the extra mile to treat children well and to be more than willing to fulfill the "more feta cheese on the salad" request.
Christo's is clearly one of the best family restaurants in the south of Boston region. The food, service and dining rooms hearken back to another era when restaurants looked like restaurants and you could leave with a full stomach and wallet.
