Element Band performs world music with contemporary compositions laced with its own sensibilities including an array of traditional Armenian folk songs as well. The band’s members are aligned in their determination to elevate their cultural heritage through music, while paying homage to South American and Mediterranean traditions—the band’s stylings are variously embossed with the sounds of Flamenco, Tango, Rembetika, as well as more contemporary influences.

“Oo” is the second sought after release from the L.A. based Element Band, which has evolved into a dynamic 9-member experience, lead by composer and arranger Ara Dabandjian.
The first disc of the double album presents Armenian selections that take on Dabandjian's trademark arrangements that come to life through several unique instruments such as the Portuguese guitar and mandolin. Some of these selections have never before been introduced to the contemporary scene.
The second disc is an embodiment of world tunes, including an Arabic original, along with Rembetika, Mexican traditional and other world music trends.
