Description

One of our most popular items!

Join naturalist, author and Hawk Mountain Board Member Scott Weidensaul to see and learn about hummingbirds--up close and personal. Scott is one of only about 100 active scientists in the world licensed to capture and band hummingbirds, and his public presentations delight and educate audiences each year. The lucky winner of this item will join Scott at Hawk Mountain on a mutally agreeable date in July or August for a personal "hummingbird morning."

This item truly is a one-of-kind, educational and extraordinary gift. Scott is the author of more than two dozen books on natural history, including Mountains of the Heart: A Natural History of the Appalachians, Raptors: The Birds of Prey, and the first two volumes of the acclaimed Seasonal Guide to the Natural Year series which he created.

This is a Live Event Item.

Special Instructions

The high bidder may bring five guests and will coordinate date with Scott. Best time is during peak of hummingbird migration, early to mid-August, although late July works well, too. Program will take place at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary, typically behind the Visitor Center.  Lunch will be provided.
