Description

Indigenous to high mountainous terrains of Asia, the snow leopard's coat provides not only warmth but adaptive and protective coloration.  To help preserve this beautiful cat, SBCI scientists have studied its reproductive biology and used artificial insemination to successfully  produce offspring.  This framed, limited-edition illustration of a Snow Leopard, was commissioned by internationally noted wildlife artist Don Heywood.  Numbered and signed by the artist, this print was exclusively offered in the Presentation Edition of the Smithsonian Endangered Species Collection. Frame is 36" tall, 26" wide.
