A fun, educational evening with Mrs. Lapo . . . For any Metro 2010-2011 First grader and a friend, and their parents too. 

Students will be dropped off at Mrs. Lapo's home to cook a meal for their parents who will return two hours after drop off to eat at the student's "restaurant".  After dinner the students, their parents and Mrs. Lapo will play "Are You Smarter Than a First Grader?"  The evening will involve all the first grade learning applications including: geography (map reading to the Lapo's), Listening (instructions and following directions), Science (nutrition), Reading/Phonics (reading a recipe), Math (fractions, adding, dividing, sorting), Writing (name tags), Spelling (naming YOUR restaurant and designing a sign for door), Bible (serving others and leading prayer), Art (presentation of a colorful meal), English (dialoging with complete sentences), Manners (demonstration through dinner and game).  Learning IS fun :)  Value of evening: Priceless!!
