Third baseman Evan Longoria was selected by the Tampa Bay Rays with the third overall pick in the 2006 draft. He made his major league debut for the Rays in 2008, and was named to the AL team for the 2008 MLB All Star Game. Longoria was also named the 2008 AL Rookie of the Year.
