Maya Angelou was raised in the perilously dangerous times of segregated Arkansas.  Dr. Angelou is globally respected and admired for her poetry, role as a historian, loved author, impeccable actress, playwright, African-American civil-rights activist, producer, and director.  On The Pulse of Morning was delivered at the Inauguration of President Clinton.
